24VOLT 270AMP 50DN BELT DRIVE NEW ELREG GENERATOR, BATTERY TERMINAL 1/2, RELAY TERMINAL 1/4, TYPE 500, NEGATIVE GROUND.

Delco developed the 50DN Alternator many years ago and it is tried and proven in the Transit Bus and Coach industries. There have been many revisions throughout the years however this part #402-1117863 is the revision prior to the introduction of their new seal & drive-end frame. A lot of customers still prefer the old design and do not wish to change to the newer one.

Regardless of the seal version the 402-1117863 has the same output and performance as Delco’s latest design part #8600191.This alternator has the following specifications –

• Maximum Speed: 6,500 rpm Continuous / 7,000 rpm Intermittent.
• Rotation: Clockwise or Counterclockwise.
• Temperature Limits: 250°F (121°C).
• Performance Output: 270 Amps @ 24 volts.
• Weight: 100 lbs (45.3 kg).
• Mounting: Radius pad or cradle.
• Required Oil Flow: Up to 2.0 gal/min (provide minimum 1” drain line) positive vent connection.

This alternator also has a lot of benefits over traditional alternators:

• It produces 75% of its output at engine idle.
